Wrightwood Certified Farmers Market
Every Friday
The popular Wrightwood Certified Farmers Market outside between the two banks parking lot on Fridays, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The fruits and vegetables are fresher than you can find anywhere else and the baked goods are always tasty as well as fresh. They now accept EBT cards.
San Bernardino County Senior Nutrition Assistance Program people will be at the Wrightwood Farmers Market on Friday, July 12, and July 19 to distribute the Senior Nutrition coupon booklet. Spread the word

Senior Luncheon
Thursday, June 20
Senior Luncheons return on the third Thursday of the month, from 11 am to 1 pm at the United Methodist Church, 1543 Barbara St., in Wrightwood.
Attendance at the popular luncheons is increasing and the room is usually quite full at 11:15, so latecomers beware. The delightful servers and helpers come from the Wrightwood Elementary school. Their parents really should see the nice manners and helpful attitudes on display by their progeny.
Guests are invited to enjoy a home-made meal for a suggested donation of $6 each.
The luncheons are the creation of Joyce Harrison and Bruce LaClaire, who are still working on obtaining funds to finance a 501©)(3) non-profit designation from the IRS so they can apply for grants toward a Senior Center for Wrightwood.

Wrightwood Mountaineer Days
Saturday & Sunday June 29-30

Visit the mountain town of Wrightwood for the 49th annual Mountaineer Days, June 29 – 30, 2013 from 10 am– 4pm. Western themed activities include stagecoach rides, cowboy re-enactors, gold panning, kid’s contests, family festivities, a hometown parade and live entertainment. Also planned are youth performers, arts and crafts displays and sales, the Timberline Lions climbing wall, the Pine Needles Quilt Guild display and auction, and a vendor and food village. Locally-owned shops and restaurants will be open both days featuring specialty and one-of-a-kind items, personal services, food and beverages, and weekend bargains. The event is free although fees may apply for some activities.
Vendor spaces are still available. Artists, craftsman, community groups, food vendors and businesses are encouraged to apply. Completed applications with payment must be submitted to the Chamber of Commerce by June 21, 2013. Discount booth prices are available for Tri-Community residents.
Plan now to enter Sunday’s Hometown Parade with your group or as an individual. Local boys and girls to age 12 are encouraged to decorate their bicycles and participate in the parade. Two new bicycles will be awarded as grand prizes for the best decorated bike for one boy and one girl. These prizes have been donated by Grizzly Cafe. There is no entry fee for participating in the parade as a group or individual. Trophies will be awarded in several categories for entrants. Parade application forms are available on the Chamber website.
Local cooks are invited to participate in a contest for the best tasting pie and jam. A $50 prize will be awarded for each category. Pies will be judged on Saturday and the grand prize awarded at 3:30 p.m. The grand prize for Jams will be announced at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. All entries need to be turned into the Chamber Booth by noon on Saturday, June 29. Please provide a cooler for pies that need to be chilled.
Enjoy games of skill, rides, a fun house and more at the Schoeppner Shows Carnival at the Wrightwood Elementary School grounds from June 26 – 30. Times will be posted as the event draws closer.
